Heather began practicing yoga in 1999 and quickly discovered that she had happened into something very powerful. As she realized the transformative effects of yoga on a physical, mental, emotional and energetic level, her mission became sharing this phenomenon with others. In 2003, she received her 200-hour teaching certification from Ana Forrest. In 2005, she attended the Moksha Yoga teacher training program, and in 2010, yogaview's Level 2 training program. The study of the mystical science of yoga fascinates her and she continues to learn with both local and world-renowned master teachers on an on-going basis. Her teaching style is a fusion of the various yoga disciplines she has studied, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Anusara, and ParaYoga. While her asana practice is most influenced by these schools of yoga, she maintains the pillars of Forrest yoga: breath, strength, integrity and spirit, and place equal importance in finding a place for joy and laughter in the practice. Always a different sequence, her classes are challenging and sometimes rather sweaty, but are at the same time a safe haven for students of all abilities.
