Yoga has been a part of my life for the last 15 years. I went to my first yoga class as a young teenager alongside my mom. From there, I continued to foster an appreciation for the practice throughout high school and college. I was about 20 years old when I remember having the first glimmering thought of what it would feel like to teach yoga.
My teaching path began a bit differently than most. I took a few small training’s and began teaching regularly in college. After three years of teaching college students in Indianapolis, I came back to Chicago to go through Yogaview’s YTT. Yogaview had always been my home base, where I experienced the palpable energy of a room full of avid practitioners, and in those walls, the drive to teach and find my voice grew.
I’ve been teaching yoga in the Chicagoland area since 2015. For a few years, I focused on teaching kids yoga inside and outside of CPS, as well as teaching hot yoga, aerial yoga classes and corporate events. As of spring 2020, I have honed a new voice teaching yoga online through Zoom.
Yoga has brought me so much grounding, patience and joy and I love watching students move along their own journey’s. I’ve always been intrigued about anatomy and the biomechanics of the body, but I also love tapping into the subtleties of the moment and highlighting the simple joys during class. A deep love and curiosity for the practice is what continues to bring me back to my mat.
