I went to my first yoga class in New York in 1998 while dancing on Broadway. It became a salvation away from the busyness of theatre and city life. As jobs took me around the world and across the US, I sought out local yoga studios as a bit of my “home away from home” and a way to care for my body, mind and spirit.
In 2006 I became a mom and in 2009 decided to transition permanently out of the world of dance and into the world of Yoga. So I got busy, continued my studies, certifications and personal practice and jumped eagerly into teaching. In 2015 and 16 I co-led the 200hr teacher trainings at Lighthouse Yoga in partnership with Thomas Zwergel.
In addition to the physical benefits of the practice I love the philosophical teachings that inspire self exploration of “who am I” and “what am I doing here”.
I challenge myself to weave in as many aspects of all that is yoga into each class. Using my intuition and attention, I guide my students and encourage them to observe themselves with curiosity, compassion, beginners mind and great self care.
